Ranakpur

Jain Temple, RanakpurRanakpur is among the five most important Jain pilgrimage centres in India. The Jain temples here are absolutely stunning. Sheer poetry in marble with a massive area of 60 x 62 meters and 1444 marble pillars, the main temple dedicated to Adinathji is grand. Each pillar of this temple is differently carved. Ranakpur is situated in the Pali district.

Located in a valley in the Aravali mountains, Ranakpur is known for its serenity and attracts people seeking a peaceful holiday. Besides the Jain temples, it also has much older Hindu temples. Among these, the Sun Temple is the main one.

The Jain temples here go back to the 14th century while the Sun Temple is believed to be from the 8th century. Besides the temples, Ranakpur also has a heritage hotel that offers a luxurious stay.


How To Get There

By Air: Udaipur 80m away is the nearest airport.

By Rail: Falna 35 km away is the nearest railhead on the Delhi-Ahmedabad sector.

By Road: Ranakpur is well connected through good quality roads with many nearby places.


Climate

In summer it ranges from 42.0C to 22.0C and in winter from 20.OC to 10.6C. carry light tropical clothes for summer and woollens for winter.
